    DiMarzio Jazz Bass DP 149 pickups

    I own 16 basses. All Fender Jazz and Precision, except a Carvin LB70 that I purchased in 1995. I constantly change pickups, bridges, pots, and even necks, looking for a perfect tone. I mainly use Seymour Duncan, EMG, and Fender pickups. I saw the DiMarzio DP 149 set for only $120, so I decided to give them a try. (my first Dimarzio set). I put them in a Fender 77 Jazz reissue. I was very surprised. The highs were very clear without being brittle, the mids were smooth, and the bass was low and punchy without being booming. I would recommend these pickups to anyone looking for a great sound, at a good price. I have played many combinations over 35 years, and these are quality pickups that sound really good.

    Underrated pickups

    A lot of people seemed to go with the hype from Aguilar,EMG, Nordstrand and many others. What they don't know is that the most expensive pickups aren't sign of the best tone you can get. These Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups are seriously the best Jazz pickups not only for the money but for the beautiful tones you can get out of it. I'm really impressed with the nuances I can get out from these pups. I've played and owned Seymour Duncan, EMG, Fender,Bartolini and many others and my honest opinion these Ultra Jazz pickups are the best of all. Before you go spend $150+ on a set of overrated pickups, give these a try and you will see what these pickups are really about.

    Awesome pickups.

    I have seven Jazz basses. Only one has these pickups...for now. These pickups capture the classic Jazz bass growl. I'm totally sold on these pickups.

    My favorite Jazz replacement pups

    I own way too many Jazz basses, and I love checking out different pickups in them. The DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pups are my favorites so far, over various Duncan, Lindy Fralin, and Fender options I've tried. Great all around tone, excellent output. The lower price versus most of the others are a bonus.
