easy to fit, looks authentic, has stayed in tune and has an nice smooth operation, yet it gives the reassuring solid feel of being well made,it would benefit from having the slotted string capstan typical of those fitted to fender guitars, and not the simple hole through type, but its perfectly adequate for the cost.

I bought Klusons to replace the original tuners, on a Tokai Love Rock. The swap over was fairly straight forward - the replacement tuners were supposed to be an exact match - although the existing headstock holes had to be gently reamed to allow the new Kluson ferrules to fit. 4 out of the 6 replacement tuners work well and are as smooth as silk. One is less so, but functions more or less satisfactorily, but the 6th feels as if it's binding within its action. When tuning this particular tuner, one has to turn the key approximately 2 revolutions before you can detect the detuning in pitch of the string. Once that happens, you can tune up to correct pitch though the tuner feels very light for a bit until the slack has been taken up. Even the original, rather poor quality tuners didn't exhibit this quirk. I have to clarify that my nut is not pinching the string to cause this issue. It may be that this tuner is a rogue one, but one poorly functioning tuner in 6 is not acceptable. Read full review
